Story

Farm & Fable sits on a sunny corner of Shawmut Avenue in Boston's South End. Filled with vintage cookbooks and kitchenwares, new heirloom-quality kitchen goods and home to a full kitchen classroom, Farm & Fable aims to be a destination shop for Boston culinary enthusiasts and collectors.

Farm & Fable is the passion project of proprietress Abby Flanagan (who is still getting used to using her married name). A former attorney, Abby took her entrepreneurial spirit and decided to transform her love of sourcing, scouring and collecting the best crafted, most beautiful and unusual cookbooks and cooking paraphernalia into her future: Farm & Fable. Abby has spent the past few years traveling all over the country searching estate sales and flea markets for vintage gems, visiting talented craftspeople and makers in their studios and now each treasure she has found has a purpose: to grace the shelves of the shop.

Abby is a Massachusetts native, having grown up in a 300 year old farmhouse in Carlisle, MA. Raised in a family with a love of great food, gardening, hunting and antiques it's no surprise that she has combined her passions into Farm & Fable.

Abby has called the South End home since 2006. She lives 46 steps behind the shop with her husband Aidan, dogs Cooper and Keegan, and cats Billy and Biggie. South End residents and regulars might recognize Abby from her time behind the counter at Flour Bakery. They most certainly will recognize Cooper and Keegan, her two big, lovable rabbel-rousing shop dogs who are regulars at Peters Park or wherever treats are being handed out.

Farm & Fable is an extension of Abby's home and she looks forward to welcoming new friends and neighbors.
