Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely adore the holidays. It really is the most wonderful time of the year and there isn’t a single thing about the season that I don’t like. I love the decorations, the music, the food, the cards, the celebrations, and the gift-giving. I even love the terribly cheesy Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel (the one part of my holiday obsession that my husband really takes issue with). It’s a time of year filled with joy, love and giving thanks and I can’t think of a better way to close out the year.
My favorite part of the holiday season might just be Christmas morning and that’s what has inspired our first holiday collection for Farm & Fable. Like a little kid I always wake up incredibly early on Christmas Day. I used to sneak downstairs to see what Santa tucked under the tree for me and whether he ate the cookies I left out. Now I’m up early making a delicious Christmas breakfast to share with my husband. Still in our pajamas we sip coffee and mimosas while the strata bakes in the oven, snacking on thick slices of toasted Christmas stollen slathered with butter. Our holiday collection includes everything you need to host your own cozy Christmas breakfast along with lots of gifts and stocking stuffers for all of the food lovers (big and small) on your list this year.
Now, I know not everyone shares my enthusiasm for the season. It is easy to become overwhelmed with the hustle and bustle, an ever expanding to do list and the pressure for the holidays to be perfect. I’m here to tell you that much like a wedding, no holiday season is ever perfect but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy this holiday season more than ever. It’s been a tumultuous year and I think we can all agree that getting back to the spirit at the heart of the holidays might just bring a little more joy into our world.
Over the next few weeks I will be sharing lots of new holiday content with you here on the blog. We will have tons of delicious recipes, including some of my family’s favorites like stollen, glogg, and pfeffernusse. I’ll share how I decorate our home top to bottom with garlands of fresh greens, pomanders, and gingerbread houses. I’ll give you all of my tips and tricks for holiday entertaining including everything from menu planning to really, really exciting things like remembering to rent a rolling coat rack. I’ll also be sharing helpful hints from my stable of experts on subjects ranging from picking the perfect holidays wines to how to keep your Christmas tree alive and looking fabulous through the new year. And of course we will have holiday gift guides to help you figure out just what from our fabulous collection of holiday inspired goods to give to each and every person on your list.
I’m thrilled to be sharing my favorite season with all of you. I hope Farm & Fable becomes a helpful resource for you this holiday season and a place you can come for some festive ideas, delicious recipes, and a little holiday cheer.
